The St John's Educational Advisory Committee (EAC) is guided and inspired by the teachings of Christ. Through service and leadership we provide support and informed advice, and promote parish community involvement in the school.

The central purpose of the EAC is to support the parish priest, principal and staff of the school in realising the vision of St John’s Primary School. Responsibilities include the following:

  • ensuring good governance of the school through shared wisdom
  • encouraging lay ministry and community leadership
  • building and sustaining relationships and partnerships
  • serving the entire school community
  • creating futures and considering long-term goals
  • providing an optimum learning environment for all students

EAC Functions

The council’s functions are as follows:

  • supporting the Catholic ethos and mission of the school
  • advising on strategic planning and setting priorities for the school year
  • assisting with policy development and reviews
  • advising on annual budgets and fees
  • contributing to the selection of a lay principal when such an appointment is being made
  • promoting and marketing the school
  • communicating with parents, parish and wider community on EAC responsibilities
