School Houses« back to home

St John's has four school houses that compete on Sports Day and take part in wellbeing programs throughout the year.

Aikenhead House (Green)

Aikenhead House is named in honour of the founder of the Sisters of Charity, Mary Aikenhead. Sisters from the order were among the first principals of St John’s and were responsible for the running of our school for most of its history. The team colour for the house is green.

Harman House (Red)

Harman House is named after Fr John Harman, who was a former, long-standing parish priest in Clifton Hill. The school was very close to Fr Harman’s heart and he has left a lasting legacy across the whole parish. The team colour for the house is red.

O’Connell House (Blue)

O’Connell House takes its name from the former auxiliary bishop of Melbourne, Bishop O’Connell, who blessed the foundation stone of the parish hall at the rear of the school. The team colour for the house is blue.

Bosco House (Gold)

Bosco House is named in honour of the founder of the Salesian order of priests, Don Bosco. The Salesians have been parish priests of the combined Clifton Hill and Collingwood parish since 2007. The team colour for the house is gold.
