P&F Events« back to home

The P&F organise a number of annual events and special one-off fundraisers. We welcome new ideas, so If you have a clever money-spinning project in mind, don't hold back! Our current fundraising focus is on the 'Playground Plan', with the goal of raising enough money to improve and maintain our children's green space.

P&F Annual Events

Auction Night

The school’s auction night usually takes place in August and is our main fundraising event for the year. The evening requires a great deal of organising by many people and is managed by a parent \with expertise in this area.

The auction night is held in the Aikenhead Hall. which is decorated and filled with hampers and good cheer. Live and silent auctions are held during the evening. The P&F also run an online auction that begins a few weeks prior. We organise a bar and catering and the night is always lots of fun.

In the past we have raised close to $15,000 at this event, so it is well worth the effort.

Welcome Picnic

Planned for the third week of Term 1, the Welcome Picnic provides a relaxed opportunity for school families to come together in an informal setting and celebrate the start of the school year. Parents bring along a picnic rug and a picnic for their family and the P&F run a sausage sizzle. A disco is held in the old hall, much to the excitement of the children.

Baker’s Delight Hot Cross Bun Drive

An Easter special organised by the P&F. Baker’s Delight also contribute generously to our school by discounting or donating bread for our sizzles, and if you mention our school when making purchases, a contribution is made by them directly to us. We are presented with a cheque of approximately $800 at the end of the year, which is a fantastic benefit.

Bunnings Sausage Sizzle

A date for this annual fundraiser will be posted on the school calendar and we encourage you to come and sizzle, serve or butter the bread for a short shift. This is a very worthwhile money earner (we have raised close to $1,800 in the past).

Mother’s Day Stall

The annual Mother’s Day Stall is organised by two volunteer parents. A great deal of effort goes into sourcing items that are low in price (between $1 and $8), with an emphasis on allowing children to choose for themselves. If you have any ideas or would like to assist with the stall, please contact Connie Cabral on 0419 471 263.

Father’s Day Stall

See the Mother’s Day Stall above. It is even more difficult to find low-cost items for fathers, so any suggestions are most welcome.

End of Year Picnic

The end of year social gathering is usually held during the last week of Term 4 in the school grounds. Parents bring along a picnic rug and refreshments for the family and a disco is held in the old hall. The sausage sizzle raises funds for the P&F.

P&F Special Events

Lunch Order Days

Organised by two volunteer parents, Lunch Order Days make for a pleasant change from the children’s lunchbox fare. The P&F make an effort to provide both healthy food options and ‘treats’ at a very reasonable price.

Fruity Fridays

Fruity Fridays are organised like a Lunch Order Day. The fruit is bought fresh from the Victoria Market and then cut up by whoever wants to jump in with a knife and chopping board – usually about six parents. The fruit is skewered, made into kebabs and sold for $2.

Collingwood Children’s Farmers’ Market

Each year in December we have the opportunity to get out into the community for a fun day at the Farmer’s Market. The school stall sells delicious samples of baking provided by the generous members of our school community.
