Better Buddies« back to home

St John's buddy system, in which each child is allocated their own Year 6 special friend, teaches and gives children the opportunity to practise the important values of respect, care, inclusion, acceptance, responsibility and friendship.

The Better Buddies program plays an important role in helping create a friendly and caring school environment, assisting young students’ transition into primary school.

Buddies meet regularly throughout the year, taking part in classroom activities together and staying in contact in the playground. The older children are encouraged to welcome and support their younger buddies and to provide assistance in the playground if they are needed. Buddies also sit together at school Masses.
