Reflecting on Term 1 Week 6 | go to Calendar »
1. From The Principal
4th March, 2020
|Saturday 21st March 9-12 noon!
Come & join us!
Dear Parents & Carers,
There has been a lot of learning and discussion around the topic of leadership at St John’s this term. Not only did our Yr 5 and 6 students see federal leadership in action, during their recent trip to Canberra, they were also leaders in the manner they represented our school; by the quality of the questions and interactions they engaged in, the respectful manner in which they conducted themselves, and the positivity they displayed to each other and to the public.
Recently, our Year 6 students prepared and presented leadership speeches to their peers in Years 3-5, who then cast their votes; democracy-style! Our Preps to Year 5 have also had their own ‘elections’ to vote for the students they would like to represent them on the SRC Council in 2020.
We are very fortunate to have such a kind and responsible group of young people. It is quite clear that they have all demonstrated their great leadership qualities, regardless of any official position they may hold. This was again demonstrated by the mature manner they engaged with our families at our Open Morning, yesterday.

We congratulate and thank every one of our Year 6 students for their contribution and efforts in putting themselves forward to these roles. We would love every to get involved by donating Easter related items to go into the Easter Hampers. It doesn’t just have to be chocolate and Easter eggs (although these are obviously wonderful), if you have any other creative Easter ideas and crafts, we would gratefully accept them. Thank you for your support
